There are two versions of this painting. This is the larger, more expressive version. People flee war, famine and persecution in the hope of restructuring their lives elsewhere. Sometimes they make it to the UK after spending months in squalor in Calais after arduous journeys from their homelands. Now the UK is sending asylum seekers to Rwanda.
