In 1975 I took off in my brand new Volkswagen Beetle, called a ‘Lux Bug’, and drove across South Africa. I stopped in a small town called Clanwilliam where I saw this woman standing outside her house. We chatted for a while and she allowed me into her home to take some photographs of her.
